One year ago, I was working as Marketing Executive in a small translation company in the North of London and I remember feeling trapped, trapped in what I like to call a gold prison. On the outside, the job seemed pretty great with many responsibilities, a good enough salary and some interesting tasks. On the inside, this was just a prison disguised in a nice building with fancy furniture and people wearing suits.

Every morning, I would sit at my desk, turn the computer on and wait for the day to end. Every evening, I would look at the clock, turn the computer off and run towards the front door. The clock was both my prison guard and my rescuer…

That was until I discovered the Holstee Manifesto and all these amazing people living their lives according to their dreams and beliefs.  For so long, I felt like a fool for believing that there was something else to the life I was living, and right there, just in front my eyes, there was these words directly speaking to my heart and soul. For the first time in a very long time, I felt free. Free to pursue my dreams, free to try the impossible, free to quit my job, free from what others might think, free from the rules, I was free to be me.

At that point, I had no other choice but to follow my heart.

So, I quit my job, gave my stuff, left my flat, waved goodbye to England and went back home. I’m now working on a shoe brand for women with bunions (Caroline Macaron) with my mum in France. I would have never imagined in a million years that I would do what I’m doing right now, but I simply love it.

This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often.
