Put the science of well-being into practice for the next generation.
The Greater Good Toolkit for Kids features 28 science-backed practices designed especially for preschoolers, children, and teens.
"This toolkit is perfect for parents, caregivers, teachers, and wellness practitioners committed to supporting and guiding the next generation." — Maryam Abdullah, Ph.D. Parenting Program Director at Greater Good Science Center
Inside the Greater Good Toolkit for Kids
Thoughtfully designed and brightly colored practices organized by age group and intensity. Each practice has four sections: why it is important, how to do it, why it works, and the primary research that supports it. This kit is perfect for anyone looking to cultivate compassion, gratitude, and resilience in the next generation.
Created for Kids
Written and researched in partnership with UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center Parenting Program, the Toolkit is full of strategies scientifically shown to be effective in enriching relationships and nurturing a greater sense of well-being in kids. Each practice is carefully worded and curated to appeal to young and curious minds.
A New Collaboration with Greater Good Science Center
When given a chance to reunite with the team at UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center, we gave an enthusiastic "Heck yeah!" A shared commitment to meaningful living and our successful collaborative history in the Greater Good Toolkit made creating a toolkit tailored for kids a natural next step together.
UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center is a nonprofit that studies the science of well-being and teaches skills that foster a thriving, resilient, and compassionate society.
The cover of each practice features one frame of a short animation that, when flipped through, shows a sun rising and setting. This is meant to illustrate that while each practice is important in its own right, it is just one part of a balanced, meaningful life.
The Greater Good Toolkit for Kids comes housed in a beautifully designed, high-quality box that will sit beautifully next to the original Greater Good Toolkit.
This kit is printed and assembled in the USA using heavy-weight, quality paper to help withstand rough handling by little hands and a finish that repels fingerprints.

For weekday orders placed before 4PM EST we typically pack and ship the same day. But with that said we are small team so we appreciate your patience for the times it takes a few days longer.
Shipping prices for international orders depend on which products you choose and shipping location: this is calculated at checkout.
International orders are subject to delays and import fees through customs and vary by location. These are outside of our control and in our experience a bit unpredictable :-/

For us, building a great company means making decisions about design and production that we are proud to share. With this in mind, we take care in every detail — from how we select our production partners, how our products are made, how they are packaged, and finally, how they impact you in your everyday life.
Below is a closer look at some of our products and how we produce them.
The cards are printed with the world's leading playing card producers, the United States Playing Card Company based in Kentucky, USA. They have been perfecting the quality of their cards since they started printing in 1867 and produce some the best quality cards in the world including Bicycle®, "Bee"®, Aviator®, and Hoyle® playing cards.
After reviewing samples from other vendors, we chose USPC for their print quality and their dedication to minimizing the environmental effects of production.
Our playing cards are crafted from sustainably-forested paper, starch-based laminating glue and vegetable-based printing inks. At the end of their long life, the cards are also recyclable.
Greater Good Toolkit
Every part of the The Greater Good Toolkit from the guides, to the box, to the shipping box we send it in are all printed and assembled in the USA. The guides are printed with our friends at PrintWest, a Washington state based printer we have had the pleasure of working with for many years. The box was created with Master Paper Box in Illinois using from approximately 95% recycled material, and the recycled cardboard shipping box was printed with Arizona Corrugated in, well you may have guessed it, Arizona :-)
Cards, Prints & Posters
We produce our prints with EM Letterpress and Aardvark Letterpress, two craft-driven letterpress printers based in North Attleboro, MA and Los Angeles, CA respectively. Both print shops have been huge supporters of Holstee since the beginning and we couldn't be more proud to work with them.
Our designs are printed using low VOC and non-toxic inks on bamboo and cotton papers that are both chlorine and acid-free.
In 2013, we meet the team at Urban Ashes and we were inspired by their work with reclaimed wood, as well as their approach to training and working with formerly incarcerated individuals.
Our frames are handcrafted from reclaimed wood taken from deconstructed homes and buildings in the Detroit Metro Area. The frames themselves are put together in Ann Arbor, MI.
We are proud that through our work with Urban Ashes, we are able to give both the wood of these frames, and the craftsman and women who assemble them, a second chance.
Our self-adhesive Manifesto Decal is produced by Riverworks Printing in Greenland, NH and Landor in the United Kingdom. The decal is printed onto biodegradable PVC-free polyester using eco-solvent, low VOC inks. The unique adhesive we use (designed to be posted and removed up to 100 times!) is phthalate-free and won’t damage your walls.
